Hello Lumiere!!

Evening girls....
I'm a little late tonight. Had the WEIRDEST day. Been rather busy. Uni, errands, Avon stuff...... BLEHH!!
However i have been VAGUELY organised and got the photos done for this post done on Wednesday, knowing i would have no energy over the last 2 days to do them.

Sooooooo.... Here i go with the lowdown on some samples i received from U.S make up and skincare brand Lumiere Cosmetics...

I was asked on twitter if i would like to sample some of Lumiere's makeup items and i jumped at the chance! I love finding new brands and was curious from the moment they asked me. So when these little pots of LOVELY arrived i couldn't wait to try them out! Neither could my mum (she tried to make off with 2 of my eye pigments but i soon told her off).

Lumiere were VERY thorough in tailoring the samples to my skintone and colour preferences. They emailed me a little questionnaire to find out what i liked and what colours would suit me so top marks for doing their homework! The eye pigments they sent are EXACTLY the colours i go for. Love my browns and taupes and bronzes.

Pigmentation is GORGEOUS and, even though i was a little scared that they would be overly glittery, they weren't at all and look very natural on. You only need a teeny bit on the brush for a natural, daytime look or you could build it up for a stronger effect. As the product is loose pigment i did experience a bit of fallout but I would expect that with any loose product.
The Shades i received were
Dulce de Leche: A coppery peach with gold sparkles
Amber: Gold/Brown with a coppery sheen
Hazelnut: A deep brown with hints of silver
All their eye pigments retail for between $5 and $8 which is REALLY affordable for the quality!

Next up are the 2 blush samples...

I must admit i haven't had chance to use these on my face yet. However, they swatch a treat, and i can't wait to use them! Pigmentation, as with the eye pigments, is GREAT and i can imagine a little will go a LONG way! I hardly needed any product at all to produce a decent swatch.

Both of these shades are gorgeous peachy colours. I received the shades...
Wild Rose: Burnished peach with rose tones (almost a shimmery version of MAC Melba)
Clay: A nude peach clay
The full size of these blushes is 4g and they retail for between $1 and $12. Definitely worth investigating. I am going to have to get to grips with a loose blush as i'm used to my compacts, but i'm sure they won't give me any problems.

Lastly, they sent me 2 powder foundation samples...

Had a wee accident with the one on the right haha. I sneezed and it kind of flew at me (bleh). Both of these shades are warm beige tones with undertones of peach and yellow but they have slightly different formulas. The Venna Velvet formula is designed for normal to dry skin types, whereas the Cashmere formula is for all skin types. Again, i can't wait to try these but I'm going to have to figure out my plan of attack with them. I'm such a novice with loose powders!

What i think i will dooooooo...... is do a FOTD post next week featuring these products to create one look. So STAY TUNED!!
Again, it's been FAB to discover and play around with products from new, independant companies and praise, once again, be to twitter for allowing me to discover another little GEM!

DEFINITELY check out their website. They are a US company but offer international shipping...

What new companies have you discovered lately?? Any tips on applying loose products??

  2. They look gorgeous... I'm soo clumsy with loose powder though, so would probably do something similar to you with the sneezing and lose half of it! xo
