Don't know if you're all aware or not but it was recently London Fashion Week. A week in which press, bloggers, celebrities and everyone in between gets to soak up what designers have in store for us for the upcoming AW13 season. I was glued to the live streaming, and not only for the fashion. I was also looking at what emerging hair and makeup trends i could pick out. A particular favourite of mine was Bourjois for Zoe Jordan...
This is a look i favour myself. Bold winged liner, neutral lip and a flush of colour on the cheeks. It's a great example of the 60s vibe that was flying down the catwalk for the upcoming season. Even though i wasn't lucky enough to see the shows for myself, I WAS lucky enough to be invited by the lovelies at Handpicked Media to visit them at their LFW suite and chat to the faces behind the faces from Bourjois. I was also given some great catwalk makeup tips and some AMAZING products to take home. Including these.....
Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipsticks* are a brand new release from February '13 and come in 17 (count em) 17 amazing shades ranging from preppy neutrals to colour blocked brights to ultra glam night time shades. They are formulated with orchid blossom extract for a smooth formula which is a pleasure to apply, extremely comfortable to wear and provides up to 10hrs of hydration. The shades i have are as follows...
No5 (Brun Boheme): A dusky pink with a touch of brown
I had this shade applied by one of the pros from Bourjois and i loved it so much they let me take it home with me! It's just that little bit different to anything else i have in my lipstick collection. In my opinion is comes off slightly reddened on my lips which i like a LOT!
and....
No7 (Fuchsia Graffiti): A rich and bright Fuchsia for Fashionistas
Fuchsia Graffiti is a VERY beautiful shade indeed. I don't find it as brash as other fuchsia lipsticks and it seems slightly darker to me than any other similar shade i have tried, even though it doesn't look that way in the bullet.
For a moisturising formula, i find these shades last very well on the lips as well as wearing comfortably. They have a lovely shine to them without being overly glossy-looking and i find i get a good 4hrs wear before i really feel the need to reapply. Obviously, with brighter or deeper shades this wear time may be reduced slightly.
I will definitely be seeking out other shades in this range and i have been VERY impressed by them as a drugstore lipstick. They retail for £7.99 and can be found in Boots, Superdrug, Selfridges London and Beauty Mart at Harvey Nichols as well as their online counterparts.
Expect more Bourjois loveliness on this blog over the next few weeks as i have a few items i've been playing with, including their BB cream that i would love to share with you very soon.
What were your favourite beauty looks from LFW?? Will you be trying these Lipsticks?? What drugstore lip products do you rate the most??
